The Certificate IV Financial Services Bookkeeping course delivered by TBST can be entirely studied by Distance Learning.  This means that we send you all your course material, work books, software and manuals and a step by step guide and you work through the material at your own pace.  We would expect that you will spend at least 90 hours reading and working through the course material as you would if you were studying the course by Classroom Training.  You will then need to practice the material you have learnt and work through your assessments.
 
You have a dedicated trainer who also trains the Classroom Training students and they are only an email or phone call away if you have any questions.

The Certificate IV Financial Services (Bookkeeping) course is an in-depth study into essential professional bookkeeping and business practices. This course is suitable for people of all backgrounds and skill levels. The successful completion of this course will satisfy the minimum education requirements as required under the new BAS Agent laws.

Multiple Qualifications: Certificate IV Financial Services (Accounting)
 
In addidion to the standard Cert IV Bookkeeping distance learning study load, students may also elect to enrol in the 4 additional units to attain the Certificate IV Financial Services (Accounting) FNS40604 qualification trained by TBST.  By attaining this additional qualification the student will be elegible to upstream in the future, with further study, to higher Accounting qualifications such as Accounting Associate Diplomas, Accounting Diplomas and Accounting Degrees.

Assessment:
 
Assessments are completed for each unit and utilise a variety of techniques to indicate the student has attained competency. Students may choose to be enrolled in all units (the Certificate IV Qualification) or individual units may be completed in order to finalise previous studies with other institutions. Students may also elect to enrol in additional units in order to attain more than one qualification.

Each student assessment is relevant and practical in its application, and whenever possible, relates back to real-life scenarios. Students often approach their assessments via two methods; either over the duration of classroom attendance or at the end of classroom attendance when the student has studied the course material in its entirety. Students are able to choose the assessment approach that suits them the most and will be provided with study support from their course tutor whom is industry experienced, qualified and knowledgeable in all aspects of the course material.

Course Duration:
 
This course is a self paced distance learning training course.  We would expect that you will spend at least 90 hours reading and working through the course material.  You will then need to practice the material you have learnt and work through your assessments.
 
Due to this flexibility there is a lower drop out rate thus saving students time and money vested in their desired outcomes. In addition, flexible adult learning encourages students to continue the course at their own pace without restrictions as to when and how you complete the course. Therefore, students are able to continue their life roles and incorporate their study into time slots that suit their lifestyles. This also allows those that are working either as an employee or subcontractor to continue to earn money or charge for billable hours, which further serve to reduce the ‘real’ course costs.

Students have 12 months in which to complete all of their assessments.
